June's Seasonal Scroll
Your curated list of seasonal links, recipes, podcasts & more for June
Welcome to June’s seasonal scroll!
If you’re new here, every single month I round up the best articles, podcasts, recipes, seasonal recommendations and a few clothing/ interior bits for good measure!
Basically, a big ol’ post with how to embrace the month, and a selection of things aligned with it too.
Before we dive in, just a reminder that on Wednesday the 4th of June our journaling club will be meeting for a mid year check-in! This is an hour long, guided session for the Slower Space community starting with a meditation, followed by journal prompts to help you tune out the noise and tune back in. Come and join us!
The month of June…
I love and honestly thrive this time of year. The long days really do just give me so much energy…
Equally, in previous years I’ve felt the pressure to make the most of them, this anxiety seeping into a calendar that feels overwhelming instead of joyful.
This June my focus is on being outdoors and in nature as much as possible in a way that feels restorative. I’m thinking long strolls in the park, picnics, trips to the beach, dining alfresco, shoes and socks off and walking on the grass.
No big plans, but capturing the joy of June in smaller, quieter moments.
The Summer Solstice
This year the solstice falls on Saturday the 21st this year. It’s the longest day and shortest night, and the start of the summer season. From this point the days will slowly start to get shorter again (up until the winter solstice in December).
Ways you can celebrate and mark the solstice…
Go for a walk at dawn, I would say sunrise but it’s rather early…
Plant a seed with intention. Think about what you want to cultivate for yourself for the second half of 2025.
Journal on the things you want to channel your energy towards, what do you want to manifest or bring into life?
Simply get outside, look up and be with what’s there (my favourite way to be in touch with the seasons, especially this time of year).
Just a reminder, as with all seasonal celebrations throughout the year, anything done with intention and meaning has the ability to honour an occasion, it doesn’t need to be fancy or elaborate!
Ways to embrace this month
Wake up earlier and start the day outside with a cuppa (one of my favourite things to do this time of year, pre having a newborn!)
Walk barefoot on the grass
Harvest elderflower to make your own cordial
It’s the half way point, so take some time to reflect on the year so far and consider how you want the rest of 2025 to look
Treat yourself to some seasonal flowers (peonies,
Take your dinner or lunch outside as much as you can
Woodland walks - The Woodland Trust has a handy guide for spring walks
Plant pollinator-friendly flowers… Lavender and sunflowers are brilliant for this
Eat seasonal foods - more on this with some recipes for the month below!

Wearing
I basically live in linen from here on out, alongside that here’s some of my favourites that I can guarantee I’ll be rotating through in June.
This shirt! I love 100% linen, but the creases can be a pain. I recently bought this which is a blend, so no creases in sight.
Behind the paywall you’ll fine more of June’s wearing, listening & watching, recipes, and some more interior/ random picks for the month!
