Ah Jodie, I absolutely love this! And the commitment contract is SO good. I personally thrive in the colder months (I live in Florida so it's not actually that cold and dark here), but I know so many struggle and this will be SO helpful for them. Thank you for sharing!!
Ahh thank you! I hope it's helpful. Have you always lived in Florida? I feel like I've come to rely on the seasons to help with the passing of time/ give me a sense of grounding, so I'm intrigued as to how that feels x
Love the commitment contract - it’s basically just setting intentions while also honouring our own word and taking our own advice. That way it may not sound as strict in case someone may feel that way.
What helps me with the seasonal shifts and slowing down is also candles. And craft. Seasonal craft collecting rose hips, colourful leaves. Making wreaths, oils. Drying the final herbs of the summer etc. Anything to physically engage with the changes for an embodied experience.
I didn't think about how the contract could be seen as strict so I appreciate your comment, thank you! I've updated the post to stress that it's definitely not meant with that intention 😌 more around what you said of honouring your own, and also having that commitment and reinforcing that you're worthy of it!
All sounds beautiful... I'm hoping to make more wreaths this year and my own candles!
I have just downloaded your commitment contract - thank you 🙏🏼 I have started creating seasonal bucket lists filled with an achievable and simple things to create joy in my day. One thing on my list is to embrace the darker mornings and evenings by lighting a candle. I do my morning pages to set up my day and in the evening I like to read seasonal books.
I always have several books on the go, a mixture of fiction, non fiction and audio books. Telling the Seasons by Martin Maudsley, Autumn Chills by Agatha Christie, Hare House by Sally Hinchcliffe (this one was a recommendation from @hippyhighlandliving)
One of my favorite rituals I have been doing this season is laying down a blanket and reading outside in the evenings either at the park, by the lake or in the backyard. Don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to do this since it’s getting colder and colder everyday 🥶
Love the commitment contract. I’m gonna download it and fill it out today!
