Iβm trying my best to lean into the joys of autumn. For serious reasons for the last few years itβs been a time of dread. I collected a few leaves on my dog walk today and Iβm pressing them to make bookmarks ππ.
Iβm trying pumpkin everything eg homemade pumpkin spiced latte syrup for my coffees and cake π
Getting outside even when it's so cold is so important! I live in Wisconsin, where it gets VERY cold, but I love watching the small ways the seasons change and feeling the fresh air.
I also use that exact same Vitamin D spray and I swear it really makes a difference, especially in a busier season of life where you might not get a lot of time outside or do much else, other than work!
I can relate so much to what you say here. I love Autumn, but am already thinking about how I can lean into and learn to embrace the 'longest dark' as I once heard it referred to (describing 21st Nov - 21st January). Getting outside is essential, but also staying warm, enjoying the slower pace and appreciating time for indoor hobbies too. I hope the 'ber' months (I love that) are treating you okay so far. Thanks for sharing this.
I love how you emphasise balanceβfinding joy in the coziness while remaining mindful of the seasonal shifts.
Tbh, this is my favourite time of year but the cold, grey days do make me feel a little bit melancholy sometimes. To add to your list, I would suggest getting a sunset lamp. I bought one from Amazon a few years ago and the warm light it gives off during the colder months really helps my mood and cosiness. It also weirdly makes you feel warmer (even if you're not haha) xx
Lovely post. Thank you Jodie. Autumn is my favourite time of year, but it's a real struggle this year, I think because it's been so damp. I love the cold crisps autumnal mornings and we have not had many of those. It also just feels like someone switched off the lights at 7am overnight!! π€£ I have bought myself a vitamin D spray though so looking forward to whether that helps the energy levels.
Itβs my first fall in Paris, so Iβm trying to absorb all the changes in the leaves, the food, and festivities. So much to experience here, even if itβs chilly and rainy.

Ahh that sounds gorgeous, I love that idea. Also definitely need to look into a homemade pumpkin spiced syrup - also sounds ideal!
