Thank you so much for this round-up. A round up lover in general I very much enjoyed it. Also, the bits that felt hard. I too am struggling with Instagram in particularly and feel myself on the cusp of jumping off.
I booked a short trip to the beach this week with my best friend. The cold weather is getting to me already and I needed a little break before it gets even colder 🥶 Now I need to check out Vinted. And cozy baths are always the best!
Vinted addict over here too! Would love to read a post on it.
I’ve had a few snippets of lovely nourishing moments this week including some quality time with my husband and getting the house all cosy for the winter.
But over the last week I’ve also had my final chat therapy session. So feeling a little nervous about going about it on my own now and trying to use what I’ve learnt.
Oh I really enjoyed this little round up series. Thank you Jodie. I relate to the deliciously, nourishing hot drinks - a luxury and non- negotiable in my life also. It brings me so much joy to intentionally prepare a cacao or my friends delicious sticky chai or as you a decaf. I also am obsessed with all things second hand so I will definitely have a look at Vinted - though I sense it may be a UK thing? My week has been filled with ticking off a lot of to-do’s. We are currently renovating a lot so there’s always something going on. I spent time organising and sitting with the magic this year has brought and also crafting the vision for what the next can hold. I taught homeschool groups with friends and allowed for some time to simply lie in the sunshine and read with my kids. And doubled up on meditation this week too, for much needed extra time of solitude and spaciousness. Hope taxes will soon be all done and sorted for you - I know that feeling all too well 🫣😂 oh and since you mentioned social media, I am finally taking the plunge to log off Instagram and spend my time solely here on Substack and I am so so excited for it. Much love to you x
I'm logging off Instagram too Claudia! Well, deleting it off my phone unless I want to post. Too much time is lost on the apps, and I know it's the same for so many of us. I just had a quick Google and it looks like Vinted might be available in the US (although hard to tell), highly recommend if it is for some second hand gems! x
Yes I so agree. I look forward to seeing how it'll impact life. I know I spend way too much time endlessly scrolling even if I open the app with the intention of not ending up there. And that's so kind of you to google! Thank you! I'm in Australia so will have a look now 🤞🏼 xx
I loved this roundup, Jodie! I’ve heard of Vinted but never tried it! Now you make me want to! And I totally feel you on the Instagram addiction, it can be so easy to get sucked in over there. I’ve been trying to be more mindful about it too. I’m also with you on hating taxes 🤣 I had to pay mine last week and it was depressing hahaha
Oh yes I love Vinted so much! I’ve been buying only second hand items for two years now and the treasure hunt either in second hand stores or online is so satisfying.
I also love these life appreciation posts. I actually did one myself last week to reflect back on the month of October and is was such a wonderful thing to write ☺️
Bird & Blend teas are the best! I love the morning rooibos one, can't remember what's it's called but it is specks of honey flavour in it and is delicious.
I would like to hear why IG is detrimental. I follow comedians, artists, places (i.e., cities) gardeners, travel accounts, funny animals friends and musicians. My problem is that it's too fun. My solution is to go to my Following section sometimes and not always scroll through what pops up on my feed
Love this idea of a roundup of good things. This week:
1. Friends getting married on Saturday had swing dance lessons last Sunday and we had so much fun!
2. Got my COVID booster, which made me far too fatigued to work the next day but left me alert enough to read a chunk of a Ben McIntyre book between all the sleeping
3. Made a wonderful soup for residents of a HIV care home I cook for once a month. Made 2 pots to bring to a friend's house to share
4. Walked with a friend I hadn't seen in a month. We began walking every Wednesday in 2020 and have kept it up aside from travel or if one of us has unavoidable plans.
5. Potted up a piece of maranta I'd rooted in water, adding it to the original pot. It filled it out so well and the plant is thriving
Not great:
Honestly the news out of Gaza and the US House of Representatives. A coworker is Jewish and we talked about the frightening rise in antisemitic attacks. I am also seeing reporting on increasing attacks on Muslims.

Thanks Eva, I loved putting it together so glad you enjoyed it 😌 I think so many of us are in the same boat!

This time of year always weighs heavier than it should for this reason - 'Deciding what to do for Christmas this year…'
I loved this way of capturing the nourishing and not-so-nourishing parts of your week!
